CIO FOCUS: CONTINUITY PLANNING AND RISK MANAGEMENT
VIDEO (VHS or CD)
by WatchIT

“Giga Information Group analysts Colin Rankine, Steve Hunt, and Andrew Bartels discuss
proven methods for helping your company recover from disaster. They outline a
comprehensive course of action on three fronts: preparedness, security, and decentralization.
Rankine lays the groundwork for your disaster recovery plan and discusses the steps you'll
need to take to get started. He addresses such questions as how to identify threats your
company could face. Hunt stresses the importance of relying on people and processes in
addition to technology, as you ensure your firm's security. Bartels focuses on how to change
your corporate culture to make it easier to deal with decentralizing, and discusses
technologies that can keep an organization running efficiently during a crisis. The Giga
Information Group is a global technology advisory organization based in Cambridge, Mass.
