BEST PRACTICES AND THE BUSINESS IMPACT ASSESSMENT
DVD/CD COURSE
by Barry Pruitt & Michael Herrera, CBCP

The survival of a business during and after disasters provides a challenge like no other.
Whether natural or manmade, partial or complete, disasters can make a prosperous
business nonexistent. The need for adequate business continuity planning and Business
Impact Analysis (BIA) is vital to the continuing success of an organization.

This course includes information and direction on how to complete a Business Impact
Assessment, the suggested tools to use in preparation, and the traps and pitfalls usually
encountered. Advice regarding selling the analysis to top management is a key part of the
training. The process to determine criticality of various business functions is discussed in
detail, including the preparation of flow charts, encompassing all organizational elements.

Actual impact analysis preparation questionnaires, and an audio recording of Barry Pruitt’s
“Negotiate for All You’re Worth” are provided on the accompanying CD-ROM.
